Use The Overhead Bridge For Safety.

There was a time when the overhead bridges had not been constructed and people used to have a hard time crossing the busy streets of Kathmandu. People then only wished that the concerned authorities eased their burden by constructing the bridges. With the flow of time, the authorities were considering enough to construct the bridges. But like the saying goes ‘Old Habits Die Hard’, the streets are all the more congested with people trying to make short cuts in the street flooded with vehicles. It is surprising as to why the pedestrians have not shown the zeal to go over the bridges to ensure their safety. Is it because they are not aware about the risks of trying to make through the streets when they could do it safely by taking a few more strides across the bridges. For the good of everyone and to ensure safety, the Municipal authority should penalise those not using the overhead bridges. Now the question is do the Municipal staffs have so much of time. This problem could be better addressed by raising widespread awareness, about the hazards of trying to cross the busy streets even when the overhead bridges are there welcoming you with a wide grin.
