How Do You Define Human Rights?

The human rights activists seem to have double standards when it comes to the violent activities being carried out by the Maoist terrorists. The first and the foremost duty of a democratically elected government is to ensure peace and people’s security. Whenever the government launches operations against the Maoists, who have been troubling the people for the last six years, these so-called activists accuse the government of violating the human rights. Unfortunately none of these people have yet raised their finger against the Maoists who are openly killing people and attacking security personnel, which is a stark violation of human rights. These people make loud noises saying the government is violating human rights by suppressing the Maoist rebels. Now why can’t they ask the Maoists to stop all their inhumane and coward activities? So whenever innocent security personnel and public die they don’t have human rights! When innocent people are being killed for nothing, there is no one to speak on behalf of them. I would like to ask the human rights activists: How do you define human rights? And what do you say about Nepal’s present situation created by the terrorists?
