Always The Same

It is always the same. It seems they always wait for rainy season to come when it comes to maintaining roads or managing sewerage. No sooner the potholes of the valley roads start becoming something like that of small ponds due to rains than the people from road department and water supply and sewerage office resume their routine work of filling the potholes and digging the roads. It has been the same since I came to understand things. When asked as to why do the people choose this season for maintaining roads or digging them out my parents said that Asadh was the last month of the fiscal year and if they spend the money allocated for maintenance they will make hefty sum of money under many headings. If this is the reality how long will this practice continue to exist? Why do the concerned authorities not take any measures to stop this malpractice which is being done at the cost of peoples’ hard earned money?
