Consolidate Democracy

Democracy is one of the best systems of governance. It is the blood of human civilisation. It was first introduced in Athens and has now spread throughout the world. It is directly related with the people. In Nepal, king Tribhuvan brought it in 2007 B.S. He fought for the rights of his people. As the father of the Nation, we proudly respect him. He freed himself and his people from the tyranny of the Rana rule.

Economy and education are two most important things of democracy. Without them, democracy, which provides us with freedom to live happily, cannot function properly. Without democracy, no country can progress. The citizen can get their freedom of speech and various other rights and opportunities. Equality, liberty, opportunity are the three aspects of Democracy.

People elect their representatives who work for the welfare of the people and the country as a whole. But the political parties spend lots of money to win the elections. They promise to develop the country in words but when they win, they never return to the village and forget their promises. They construct a bridge where there is no river. They only quarrel and accuse each other of rigging the polls. In fact, general people get many problems that can’t be described in few words.

Democracy can be successful only when people and the government understand their responsibilities and work honestly. Every year we celebrate Democracy Day. In spite of the change in the form of the government, the condition of the country has not improved. Only the political leaders, and not the people, are getting benefit from it. That’s why it is our duty to try to make reforms in this system. It’s a duty of all of us to materialise our martyrs’ dream.
