We do not have the dearth of non-governmental organisations in the country to look into the woes of small children who are displaced from their homes. They are certainly a blessing in disguise for children who have gone astray. Many of them have been fulfilling their onerous duties of providing food, shelter and education to the children. But still things seem to have gone amiss when looking at many such children scavenging the garbage or sleeping out in the cold without food and drink. A layman is bound to feel the pinch to see the future stars of the nation reeling under deprivation. The question that normally springs to ones mind on seeing these innocent boys and girls is why have not they caught the attention of the welfare organisations. Do we need more NGOs to accommodate these homeless children? Pramod Risal |
