By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, March 10: The General Conference of the Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) has unanimously elected its central executive committee today. Mukunda Bogati of Sapathik weekly has been elected as president while Krishna Raj Khanal of Gorkhapatra Daily has been elected as the senior vice president. Mukunda Dahal (Himalaya Times) and Jaya Dev Bhatta (Kantipur Daily) were elected as vice presidents. Manoj Acharya of Kantipur F.M. is the new general secretary while Suman Malla of the Kathmandu Post is the secretary. Likewise, Amar Singh Pradhan (The Space Time Today), Purushottam Ghimire (Nepal TV) Samir Jung Shah (Radio Nepal), Rajendra Gyanwali (Kantipur), Hemant Kafle (Himalaya Times) Roshan Singh Raut (Space Times), Nimesh Adhikary( Sagarmatha F.M), Dinesh Jung Shah (Rajdhani) and Narayan Upadhyay ( The Rising Nepal) have been elected as the newly constituted committees executive members include. The NSJF members attended the general meeting held at Nepal Journalists Federation Office. NJF secretary Vishnu Nisthuri was the chief guest for the meeting. Addressing the meeting following the unanimous election of the NSJF body, Nisthuri said that sports journslists unanimous decision to elect its executive body was the exemplary one as it had shown the unity among them. In the meeting, the newly elected body discussed about NSJFs new plan and programmes. Karate, kick boxing meet conclude Butwal (RSS): The 3rd Shiva Charan Memorial International Invitational Karate and kick boxing champioship concluded here Saturday. The championship was participated in by 70 karate and kick boxers from Nepal, India, Bangladesh and Bhutan. At the function chaired by chairman of the House of Representatives Environment Committee Surya Prasad Pradhan and president of the Rupandehi district Tharu Welfare Committee Astabhuja Chaudhary, president of the District Sport Development Committee Bharat K.C., president of the District Chamber of Industry and Commerce Ajar Man Sainju and others expressed their views. Late Shiva Charan Chaudhary had won gold medals in various national karate championships as well as the karate event of the SAF game in 1992. The karate and kich boxing championship is being organized by Rupandehi District Tharu Welfare committee in memory of the late Chaudhary with the objective of encouraging the karate players. Eastern regional chess championship Bhadrapur (RSS): On the occasion of the late Bhairav Prasad Rimal Memorial Day and golden jubilee of Bhadrapur Municipality, MPs Krishna Prasad Sitaula declared open the Eastern Regional Chess Championship here today. The chess championship is being participated in by 65 chess players from Sunsari, Morang and Jhapa districts of the Eastern Development Region. Speaking on the occasion chief guest and MP Sitaula said that the late Bhairav Prasad Rimal would played a lead role in the field of sports will be a source of great inspiration for the sportsmen of Jhapa district. Mayor of Bhadrapur Municipality Bhartendra Kumar Mallik said that sports helps in physical and mental development of a person. At the inaugural function chaired by president of Bhadrapur Chess Club Ganesh Ojha, MP Ravindra Chakravarty also expressed his views. |
