By A Staff Reporter

Kathmandu, May 3: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has pledged that the government would make arrangements to run the Biratnagar Jute Mills and solve the problems being faced by the workers before he leaves for the United States of America.

A delegation of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT), consisting of GEFONT’s eastern regional representatives, CPN-UML’s chief whip and former minister Bharat Mohan Adhikary and acting president of Nepal Sadhvabana Party, met with the Prime Minister today.

The Mills has remained closed for the last seven months. GEFONT said the closure has affected about 30,000 people including 3,200 workers and employees of the Mills.
