Discourage Plastic Bags

That the farmers in Jhapa have quit cultivating jute due to the rise in the use of plastic goods and bags. It is a sad news. Why should they continue to produce jute when it is no more a cash crop and has been completely replaced by polluting plastic items? The other countries like Bangladesh have already discouraged the production of plastics keeping in mind the pollution they create in the environment. Jute bags are quite famous there these days. But our government never seems to be serious while banning such pollutant items and encouraging domestic production of jute which is environment friendly. Once the government declared that it would not allow any two-stroke vehicles to ply in the capital valley. But when the time approached it changed its decision. How can the country’s environment be sound and healthy when the government fails to ban those items which are the enemies of environment?
