Nepal-Turkey trade discussed

KATHMANDU: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries hosted an interaction programme with the Turkish Ambassador Hasan Gogus with a view to enhance trade between the two countries.
On the occasion, Ambassador Gogus expressed the confidence that after the direct air services between Istanbul and New Delhi from January next year, tourism, the backbone of economic development, will be promoted.

Prior to this, confederation president Binod Chaudhari said that the confederation was keen on maintaining relationship with concerned businessmen of Turkey for the expansion of bilateral trade.
Honorary Consul General of Turkey to Nepal Mohan Gopal Khetan expressed the view that it had become necessary to attract Turkish industrialists.

Participants at the programme said that Nepalese carpets had not been able to receive proper price in the Turkish market and the exporters were not able to receive enough information on Turkey.
