Action against kerosene sellers

KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce has initiated action against 58 kerosene sellers for using short measure, according to sources at the Department of Commerce. An inspection team, led by the department, had carried out a number of sudden inspections in several places in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur.

While carrying out inspection, the kerosene dealers were found using the restricted cylindaric liter to sell kerosene. The inspection team has recommended 32 kerosene sellers for further action.

The department is taking action against the following kerosene sellers - Maharjan Khadya Store, Dharapokhari Trader, New Balkumari Enterprises, Suresh Kirana Store, Bikash Kirana Store, Panchabuddha Oil Store, Prajapati Madhya Thimi, and Krishna Prajapati.

The department has also cautioned 11 dealers to renew their firms, the sources said.
