'National talents should be respected' RSS KATHMANDU, Apr. 11: Chairman of the Raj Parishad Standing Committee Parasu Narayan Chaudhari honoured tourism entrepreneur and social worker Ambika Shrestha and senior artiste Harihar Sharma amidst a programme here today.On the occasion Chaudhari presented copper plaque and shawls to Shrestha and Sharma.Shrestha and Sharma were honoured for their contribution to the promotion of Nepal's tourism and Nepali art and culture respectively. Message RSS KATHMANDU, Apr. 12: Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Badri Narayan Basnet has said the government has given special priority to conservation and expansion of farming of various plants in view of the interest, demand and business activities growing drastically in the international level towards conservation, promotion and sustainable development of herbal and non-timber forest products which turn into maximum benefit from a small investment. Giving a message on the occasion of the Botany Day today, Minister Basnet said remarkable cooperation has been received from the donor agencies for the sustainable development of vegetations, as there exist potentialities of improving the living standards of the Nepali people through extensive and multifaceted utilisation and development of vegetation. In his message of felicitation, he wished the day would inspire all concerned in the sector to give more attention and efforts on conservation, development and extension of the plant resources. NOC issues ration cards for kerosene KATHMANDU, Apr. 11: Nepal Oil Corporation has sent 660,000 cards for distribution in 40 districts where consumers will be able to buy subsidised kerosene.The NOC said more than 350,000 cards have already been handed over to the district administration offices in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Kavre districts. |
