Bandha programme deferred

BUTWAL, Apr. 12: The indefinite bandha programme announced by the joint action committee in views of the death of Devi Lal Paudel, a student of Butwal Multi-Purpose Campus, has been deferred by a week on considering its adverse impact on the normal life.

The decision to this effect was taken this evening after a meeting was held among the administration, students and the teachers. President of the Free Students Union of the campus, Ramesh Nyeupane said that as understanding was reached that the administration will take action against the guilty, the bandha programme has been postponed. The demand of the students include compensation of Rs. 1.5 million to the family of late Paudel and he be declared a martyr.All the students arrested in connection with the bandha have been released today, it is learnt.
