Mahayagyas organised in various parts

KATHMANDU, Apr. 20: Various Mahayagyas (grand religious ceremonies) being conducted in various parts of the country wishing for peace in the nation and welfare of the people have been completed.
Such Mahayagyas (grand fire offering ceremonies) have been conducted in a total of 131 places of the country for the last one-week at the initiative of Muktinath Pithadhishwor Swami Kamalanayanacharya.

The conclusion of all these Mahayagyas will be held with the flown of milk of 1,265 cows at Tribenidham of Nawalparasi district on Thursday.

There will be a grand religious mass meeting at Tribenidham during the conclusion of the Mahayagya at Tribenidham, the religious site of the Hindus, Dr. Bhola Rijal, chairman of the World Hindu Muktinath Council said.

The Mahayagya held under the auspices of Dhaulagiri Service Society at Bankali of Pashupatinath also completed this afternoon.

A total of 1.2 million traditional lamps were lighted yesterday during the Mahayagya, it is said.
Such grand religious functions were held in various parts of the country including in various places of Kathmandu.

This is the first time that such Mahayagyas (grand fire offering ceremonies) were held in various parts of the country.

Meanwhile, in Parbat, a total of Rs 4,000,000 was raised in aid of Parbat Multiple Campus at Phalebas through the performance of Sribhadra Bhagawat Mahapuran Gyanmahagya rites for world peace.

The oldest multiple campus in the district which was set up in 2040 Bikram year, was on the verge of closure because of financial difficulties, according to campus chief Yadav Ghimire.

During the week-long Mahayagya which commenced with the Nepali new year, Minister for Works and Physical Planning Narayan Singh Pun personally contributed Rs 50l,l0l.
