RSS ITAHARI: The standards and metrics regional office Biratnagar has expedited market monitoring of the businessmen of Jhapa and Saptari districts who have been cheating the customers. More than four hundred businessmen faced action last month in Morang, and 297 in Jhapa and Saptari this month, the office said. The violation included using sub-standard measurement and food adulteration and the office collected a revenue of Rs. 116, 323. Action was taken on businessmen in Kakadbhitta, Shanischare, Chandragadhi and Dhulabari of Jhapa and Rajbiraj, Bharadaha, Hanuman Nagar, Mahuli and Kanchanpur in Saptari. The office chief Shashi Bhushan Yadav informed that the office also confiscated sub-standard measuring equipments from 190 businessmen in Jhapa and 107 in Saptari. RSS KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has said the recently promulgated ordinances have been instrumental in promoting export but have not been in consonance with the strong demand by the exporters including FNCCI on wiping out all hassles through payment of a certain amount of income tax on the export amount.The FNCCI said the ordinances have not made any attempt on revival of the bankrupt industries and tourism.The FNCCI has taken positively the payment of taxes through the district branch of FNCCI and the district accounts control office where there are no internal revenue offices. The FNCCI also took positively the commitment of the Finance Minister on issuing bonds at a time when it had been long since duty drawback had not been returned by the government.The works to be performed in time and holding the office chief responsible otherwise is positive commitment, it said. Bhaktapur brick factory resumes production RSS KATHMANDU, Jan. 9: The Bhaktapur Brick Factory which was closed since June has started brick burning. The factory which was closed for seven months has started its works and has prepared 2 million raw bricks in three days. The Factory aims to produce 100,000 raw bricks, daily The Factory came into operation after five days of Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Mahesh Lal Pradhan giving directives to the factory in connection with directing the newly appointed chairmen and general managers of public corporations to run the factory within ten days. Assistant Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Jagat Bahadur Gurung while making an on-the -spot inspection of the factory yesterday, called on the workers to work in a disciplined manner. General Manger of the factory Gunaraj Bhatta said great enthusiasm has been seen on the workers and staffs who did not get salaries for seven months and informed that the bricks will be ready in five days. The president of the Nepal free workers union Bidur Timilsina and president of nepal revolutionary workers association Ram Krishna Baiju made commitments for all possible help to the management on the occasion of starting of operation. |
