US envoy, Sharma discuss tourism

KATHMANDU, Jan. 10: American Ambassador Michael E. Malinowski paid a courtesy call on Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Kuber Prasad Sharma at the latter's office in Singh Durbar.

Matters pertaining to American government's contribution for the promotion of tourism in Nepal were discussed on the occasion, the Ministry has stated.

Detailed discussion was made regarding the need of additional tourist attractions to be managed in order to allure more American tourists in future at a time when number of American tourists visiting Nepal is dwindling.

The Ambassador on the occasion offered invitation to Nepalese side to participate in the expo-camps to be organised in California and Los Angeles of USA for the exhibition of items reflecting Nepalese arts, culture, archaeology, tradition and history.

Also present on the occasion were deputy chief of mission Robert K. Boggs and director of American Centre Constance Colding Jones.
