His Majesty initiates Shanti Yatra

KATHMANDU, Mar. 1 : His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev initiated the Rastra Kalyan Shankalpa Shanti Yatra (peace procession devoted for the welfare of the nation) organised by Brahma Kumari Raj Yog Service Centre amidst a special function held at the Narayanhity Royal Palace this morning on the auspicious occasion of the Mahashivaratri festival.Her Majesty Queen Komal Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah was present on the occasion.Their Majesties the King and Queen were presented flowers by chairperson of the peace procession main committee Rajyogini Brahamkumari Rajdidi, members of the committee and Pancha Kanyas.

Their Majesties performed Puja at the Jyotirlingam of Lord Shiva Pashupatinath amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns on the occasion.Their Majesties the King and Queen were presented divine gifts by vice chairpersons of the main celebration committee Brahma Kumari Kiran and Brahmakumar Surat Bahadur Ayer.On the occasion, His Majesty the King gave away Shanti Kalash to the chairperson of the main committee Brahma Kumari Rajdidi and Shiva Pashupatinath flag to vice chairman Brahmakumar Ram Singh Ayer.A peace procession of Omkar family including the representatives of various religious organisations, social workers, business community, teachers, students , Nepal Scouts and general public participated in the peace procession organised for the first time by Brahmakuri Raj Yog Service Centre.

The peace procession participated in by thousands of people will converge into a prayer meeting for peace at the Dasharath Stadium after passing various parts of the city.
