Australian envoy assures continued support to HRA

KATHMANDU, March 6: Australian Ambassador to Nepal Keith Gardner said that his embassy would extend continuous support to the Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal (HRA) in its efforts to provide rescue and health services to trekkers as well as local people in the mountain region.

Envoy Gardner gave the assurance to the HRA executives as he made a cordial visit to the association's secretariat today. He was accompanied by Miss Kilmeny Vinckers, an embassy officer.
HRA executives, including Ang Kaji Sherpa, president and K. D. Khwanju, general secretary, welcomed the envoy and appraised him of various activities of the association's activities.

According to the HRA, the Australian and the British Embassies have agreed to provide financial assistance to the association for the renovation of Manang Aid Post.
