Hyundai Santro has now added two new variants to its line up- the Santro non-AC and the Santro LS.
Priced at
Rs. 840,000, the non-AC has been targeted at those consumers who are keen on driving the
Santro due to its premium category but have to compromise with other models due to
its price, says AVCO International, the sole distributor for Hyundai vehicles in
Nepal. The LS Version comes with an AC and power steering and it is especially targeted at
those who feel these features are a must in a modern car, according to AVCO sources. The
Santro now has four versions, the non-AC, LE, LS and GS, available in Nepal.
Targetting
the children as consumers, a new brand of instant noodles "Lot Pot" has been
launched by Asian Thai Foods (P) Ltd.
"Lot Pot" is said to be the first Nepali brand of instant noodles in curry flavour. Priced at Rs 8.00 per 65 gm packet, the new brand is being positioned to compete with other brands priced at Rs. 9.0 per packet.
Asian Thai Foods (P) Ltd. has also been marketing Rum Pum, Phuchhe and Picvic brands of instant noodles and snacks.
Syakar Company
Ltd. has launched three new models of Philips brand TVs amidst a special RF campaign. The
new models launched under MATCH///LINE include two in 29" category and one in
21" category. Priced at Rs. 33,803 for 21" model Rs. 61490 and Rs. 71,500 for
the 29" models , the new TVs board features line black matrix real flat tube, digital
comb filter, double window with two tuner and picture-in-picture, among others.
A stroll
around Kathmandu would compel one to think that the flood of Indian and Chinese
motorcycles have saturated the market here. But that is seemingly not so.
Gurans Enterprises (P) Ltd. has just recently introduced Suzukis Marauder 250 into the market here. Priced at a cool Rs 440,000, the bike obviously targets the upper-end market. According to Suzukis dealer, the Marauder is equipped with 5-speed gears and chromed dual rear shock absorbers with 5 stage period adjustment.
Available in three colour options, red, green and black, the Japanese bike boasts of quality chromed components throughout. It is also equipped with a convenient push button electric starter and front disc brakes. Gurans claims that the Marauder will give riders the full experience of classic cruiser riding.
Already available in the Indian market for two years, Dabur Nepal (P) Ltd. has recently launched the Imli variant of its Dabur Hajmola Tablet in Nepal market.
Sporting an attractive package targeting the youth, the digestive tablet in Imli (tamarind taste) is claimed to be less salty and spicy as compared to other Hajmola variants, with an additional content of imli saar.
The medicine valued Imli is available at the same price as the other variants, Dabur Nepal says.
Newly
established Bhagawati Soap Industries (P) Ltd. has launched its maiden product
Dalima brand of detergent soap. Featuring Sarita Lamichhane of teleserial
Mukti fame as the model, the advertisement for the new product has Mukti
(freedom) as the main theme with a message that the product frees the housewives by
turning the drudgery of washing the linen into a pleasant activity.
In line with the ongoing practice of using high-sounding words to describe the properties of a detergent soap brand, Dalima also is claimed to contain instant germicide.
Based in Biratnagar, Bhagawati Soap Industries belongs to Maliram Shivakumar Group.
Syakar Company Ltd., a Jyoti Group subsidiary and authorised dealer of Hero Honda, has introduced Passion, yet another brand of the Indian motorcycle maker.
The 100cc, 4- stroke bike is priced at Rs 94,500, according to Syakar. The single cylindered Passion, informs the company, is available in four colours - black, grey, blue and maroon. Syakar sources reveal that the main features of the bike include adjustable rear cushion, lockable seat, helmet holder and streamlined side. The bike also comes with a wider wheel base for safety, claims the Hero Honda dealer.
