Jetley, Fulbari’s New GM

The Fulbari Resort & Spa at Pokhara has injected a new vitality in its management by introducing Geeta Jetley, a very experienced and dynamic lady as its new General Manager.

A graduate in Hotel Management from Pusa Institute, New Delhi, Jetley started her career from the Oberoi School of Hotel Management as a Management Trainee. Since then the fairly long innings of her career graph has risen over the years, during which she held many responsible positions in the hospitality service, amongst which are Assistant Manager at Delhi Oberoi Intercontinental, followed by the responsibility of Duty Manager at Niveneh Oberoi in Mosul Iraq. Again, back to India, Jetley took the assignment of Executive Assistant Manager at Oberoi, Bhubaneshur and Krishna Oberoi, Hyderabad respectively. From 1992 to ’94, she took the responsibility of Jai Mahal Palace, a Taj Group hotel in Jaipur as its General Manager, switching back again to Oberoi Group’s Trident in Madras in the same capacity.

Since June 2000, she had been a consultant with the Diplomat and the Manor, both boutique hotels of international class. The Fulbari Resort & Spa is Jetley’s first assignment in Nepal.


Sanjeev Oberoi- Dynamism personified

Sanjeev Oberoi took over as General Manager of The Everest Hotel from October. He finished his B. Com Honors from Delhi University and joined the Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development, Delhi, for two years of hotel management as a Management Trainee.

Oberoi’s hoteling career began in 1981 with the Oberoi International in New Delhi as Lobby Manager. With 20 years of experience behind him, his background is basically in Food & Beverage and Front Office. He has worked in various countries in the Middle East, South East Asia and India. He has also worked in Al-Rasheed in Baghdad and Dammam Oberoi in Saudi Arabia.

His first assignment as General Manager was in 1991 at the Quality Inn in Mysore, India and subsequently he worked in various hotels, namely Stamford Court, Regency Chancellor Court in Ho Chi Minh – Vietnam, and President Park Group in Bangkok, Thailand. His experience extends to working in five star deluxe properties, budget hotels and hotel apartments. Lately, for the past 8 years, he has been instrumental in the opening up of four new hotels and hotel apartments in various countries, including designing of staff and kitchen facilities along with the execution of the projects.

Prior to his appointment at The Everest Hotel, Oberoi was the General Manger of Goa Intercontinental, a project coming up in South Goa.


Multi-faceted hotelier

Graduate in Physics, Masters from Bangalore University, Samir Khanna is the General Manager of Hotel De L’Annapurna.

Khanna’s career in the hotel industry kicked off nearly two decades ago with the Taj Group of Hotels when he joined the Bangalore-based Taj West End Hotels as Graduate Trainee in Operations in 1982. Khanna then completed a three year stint at Hotel Chandela, Khajuraho, as Front Office Manager, following which he took over as Manager of Gate Way Riverview Lodge, Chipuvri. Khanna also served as Resident/F&B Manager at Late Palace Hotel in Udaipur before taking over as the hotel’s General Manager in 1994. Five years down the line, he took over his present portfolio.

Khanna loves collecting art, listening to music and driving around the country besides stamp and coin collecting.


Wide Business Involvement

A businessman and entrepreneur, Khadga Bahadur Limbu Subba, 44, is involved in a wide sphere of business activities.

Subba is the Managing Director of Subba Shree K B Trade Concern, Nepal East West Travels & Tours (P) Ltd, Nepal & Trading, and Subba Nepal Trading Co. (P) Ltd. Member of such organisations as Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Nepal German Chamber of Commerce and Nepal Association of Travel Agents, Subba also heads Subba Shree KB Trade Concern Inc, and Subba Shree KB Trade Concern. Subba’s latest venture is with Kanchanjunga Processed Foods Nepal (P) Ltd which has lately introduced U-Key brand of noodles into the Nepali market. He is also widely traveled and has visited several European, North American and Asian countries.
