ATC’s Scheme

ATC Exim Pvt. Ltd. has brought out a scheme on its Samsung air-conditioners. Customers are offered 14" Color TV, 166 litre fridge and 28 litre micro woven of Samsung brand on split type whereas 90 litre fridge, 20 litre micro oven and 3 VCD players are on window type, according to the company sources.

It is learnt that the offers are optional and that the customers are to choose one option – whether buying split type or window type.

Two models of split type accentuate low power consumption, 5 way control and auto suing, among others as salient features. Simultaneously, window’s models boast of bio components function, air purifying filer, washable grillecum-ventilation control.


Mayos’s New Offer

At a time when a new noodle brand hits the market every fortnightly, Himalayan Snax and Noodles (P) Ltd, has brought out a new marketing strategy as what it calls what it says as "Mayos Gold N’ Car offer" to promote its market.

The new scheme, which is said to hold valid for six months, offers a coupon in every packet which consists of three parts – instant, monthly and bumper. Instant category offers thousands of two and five denomination rupees, football, basketball, coke, fanta, sprite, cycle, cap and a mayos packet.

Simultaneously, the monthly scheme comprises of a brand new car, two motorbikes and five computers, and the bumper gift offers nothing less that two kilos gold, five motorbikes and ten fridges.

The overwhelming success of our previous scheme – "mayos sayama saya upahar – Jandaina haat khali," – has prompted us to initiate this new scheme, reveals the company sources.


Vegetable a la Kiev from 1905 Boardwalk

Keeping their vegetarian clients in mind, 1905 has come out with a special vegetable menu. The mouth watering vegetable a la Kiev is a must for every vegetarian. It is also a complete meal by itself.


Bishal’s Chicken Pickle

Beside being an ardent dancer and in making feminine caricature, Bishal Pant, a young man of 20, is also a veritable cook.

Interestingly, this multi-talented man has even made homely pickle named, "Bishal’s Chicken Pickle" which is also supplied to hotels in a limited scale. But Bishal has a determined plan to expand his small scale pickle industry to a large one.

Since last year, he is revealing his dancing talent at various NTV programmes including Casino Everest. To make his god-gifted talent widely recognized, he has also plan to exhibit himself in movies. He is also interested in Choreography as well.


Golden Tiger now in Can

As the Beer consuming trend in Nepal is growing at break-neck speed and the competition between different Beer brands becoming more and more stiff day to day, the Breweries are resorting to newer and newer marketing strategies to lure the potential consumers.

In this regard, Mount Everest Brewery (P) Ltd., the producer of popular San-Miguel brand, has introduced "Golden Tiger Strong Beer" in 330 ml aluminum can. With this launch, MEBPL boasts of being the first Nepali company to offer an ethnic Nepalese beer in the can version.

MEBPL has defined its recent bid as a robust mean to confront the challenges triggered by ‘Slow but Sure’ changing trend in the market-place as well as offer a wider range of pack-sizes to the discerning modern consumer.

Golden Tiger Strong Beer claims to enjoy the reputation of matching its full-bodied taste to the strength of its namesake.

The canned Golden Tiger with attractive pack is priced at Rs 42/per can. Golden Tiger Strong is already available in 650 ml and 325 ml bottles.


NTDC Relaunches Tokla and Soktim

After a gap of three years, Nepal Tea Development Corporation (NTDC) has relaunched its old brands of tea in local market including Tokla and Soktim.

The NTDC produces CTC tea from its tea estates at Tokla, Soktim, Baradasi and Chilingkot whereas orthodox tea from Kanyam and Ilam tea estates.

The relaunched brands of tea are free from other ingredients and of high quality, claims the new management of NTDC, a privatised enterprise since the last two years.

The NTDC, as has been learnt, has made necessary arrangements for ensuring consistency in production and distribution throughout the kingdom.

Shailesh Grover has been appointed as Front Office Manager of Hotel Everest. Prior to joining Hotel Everest, Mr. Grover held the same designation in Mandarin Oriental Ananda a Spa & Resort at Uttaranchal, India.

Navneet Nagpal has been promoted to General Manager at Yak and Yeti Hotel. Nagpal was previously Room Division Manager in the same hotel. In 1997 Nagpal joined Yak & Yeti as Front Office Manager.

Awadesh K. Das, ex-Senior Sales Manager of Himal Media Pvt. Ltd, has joined Jagadamba Press as its Marketing Manager. Likewise, Anup Adhikari has resigned as Marketing Executive of Himal Media, after working there for past one year. He has now been appointed as Information & Personnel Manager of British Council.

D. Weerasing of Nepal Bank of Ceylon Ltd. has just completed his tenure of five-months as the CEO.
K. Dharmasiri has replaced him.

Bikash Subba, previously a Chartered Accountant of Soaltee Group, has been promoted to the post of manager (Internal Management Consulting – IMC). Naresh Chandra Pradhan is the newly appointed Assistant Manager IMC of Soaltee Group.

Dr. Gopal Prasad Shrestha is the Promoter & CEO of Beijing Roast Duck Restaurant (BRDR). He was earlier associated with United Insurance Company (Nepal) Ltd. as the General Manager.

Pradeep Das Shrestha has joined BRDR as General Manager (GM). He was GM in Hotel Central Point, before joining BRDR.
