The First Flight Engineer in Helicopters
A master in Aeronautical Engineering, Sanjeeb Kumar Shrestha, 32, is the Managing Director of Simrik Air Pvt. Ltd.
Professionally a Flight and ME engineer, Shrestha boasts of being the first flight engineer of Nepal in Civil helicopter (MI-17), and has three years working experience as Aircraft maintenance engineer and four years as Engineering Director in Asian Airlines Pvt. Ltd. Currently Shrestha also holds the designation of Secretary General in Society of Aeronautical Engineers, Nepal and Vice President of MI-17 Helicopter Technical Manpower Association (Pilots and Engineers). Apart from Nepali, English and Hindi, Shrestha also has a good command and fluency over Russian language. A Bright Star in the Hotels Horizon
Navneet Nagpal, 32, has been recently appointed General Manager of Hotel Yak and Yeti, the premier 5 star deluxe hotel. A graduate of Hospitality Management School, he has been in the industry for 11 years. He gained his experience working in a number of chain hotels, namely Sheraton, Hyatt, Golden Tulip, Southern Pacific and Radisson, before joining Hotel Yak and Yeti in November 1997. His efficient professionalism as Front Office Manager, where he developed yield management for the first time at the hotel, coupled with his engaging smile, and warm personality, as well as sheer dedication to his role, elevated him to a post that he could do justice to. Navneet’s personal goal is to steer the hotel to retain it’s command as the capital’s premier hotel, in this recovering market situation, following the downturn of both local and global disasters of 2001. Vijay Subba, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Fulbari Resort And Spa Pokhara since July 2001, has come long way since he completed his Diploma in Hotel Management from Kolkatta in 1986. Subba who did his schooling from St. Joseph’s College, Central School, Darjeeling started his career in the Food and Beverages Department in Food Graft Institute in Darjeeling. He joined Hotel Yak and Yeti as Food and Beverage Controller first, then as Operation Analyst and again as Assistant Front Office Manager in the same hotel. Since June 1999 he has been at Fulbari Resort & Spa as Front Office Manger. Besides music, reading, gardening and cooking he has completed the Adventure Course in Mountaineering under the guidance of the late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. |
