TITTLE TATTLE

Tittle Tattle

Utter chaos marred last  Sunday’s AGM of the country’s biggest hotel -- Hyatt Regency. The scene was very much similar to the ones we often witness in our House proceedings -- gheroes, mike-snatching, wrecking public property and plenty of scuffles. How easily and quickly we learn bad things, first?

The birth of so-called ‘internal refugees’ problem resulting from Maoists terrorism is a very serious problem alright. Providing the refugees with dal-bhat for a day or two is no solution when hungry. Instead of providing them with fish, rather the refugees must be taught to catch fish. Certainly, this is a more lasting solution. Agree?

Talking ill of a person well known for his kindness and honesty, to a fellow passenger on a plane! Well! Does not reflect well on the backbiter himself and there are plenty to talk for the good person. Are you listening, active talker?

***

Is it a mini adventure to wait in the down pour while waiting to receive your near and dear ones at the airport? The place does not even have a shelter for those waiting!! So can we really call it an “international standard” airport?

***

Granted, it is a resort and far from the valley. But why charge the earth for a simple lunch? The charge for four for a lunch would easily feed eight in the valley! Price for holidays, presumably! Or is it long distance fees?

***

Who is who? No, we are not talking of the well known and famous, but of the persons labelled by the local media as either a crook or a hero. Different papers seem to give different labels to the same person, depending on whether he is a friend or a foe - political, financial or favour wise. Tattler is ashamed to admit, corruption seems there in the media too, Ke garney.
