TITTLE TATTLE |
A teacher of a school here in Kathmandu has "predicted" that a girl student of his school will top the SLC exam. Wow, what confidence, or is it confidential knowledge gotten through crisp currencies? *** Must admit some editors are also real confident. They have bravely put for sale what they themselves have called their "dummy" issue. Furthermore, this English weekly is a pricey one, costing all of Bees rupiya, which is four times more than what ordinary weeklies cost! Time will tell what "budget" conscious Nepalese newspaper readers will do about this "bahadur" lot. *** Mao is long dead and his ideologies long proven wrong. Why do vague look alikes flatter themselves and spout the long dead language and brain wash illiterate and innocent minds by shocking hogwash? It is up to the present power holders to find an answer to this. *** The present Home Minister and the IGP of police are probably going through one of the worst times in their careers. While the Minister, as he is a politician, can "live to fight another day", the IGP has no such chance. So wouldnt it be better for him to act more professional and stop dancing to the tune of politicians? *** Many people, including businessmen and government officials complain of "upstart" journalists, who as soon as they see a couple of reports and by lines of theirs, start behaving as if they are masters of the world. Tattler does agree this lot exists, but it is none other than the same people who complain, who are promoting them. The complaints come only when they meet some scribes who oppose them. *** Kudos to the student union of the Engineering Campus at Pulchowk. Tattler was really impressed to learn that the union has been running preparatory classes for freshers and the earnings are to be spent for the benefit of the students. Who says student union can not be creative if they throw away party flags and shun partisan politics? |
