TITTLE TATTLE |
A "reputed" college in its advertisement on NTV, used atrocious English to lure students to its classes. Tattler only hopes, the teachers there are more capable in the technical subjects that they teach than they are in their English. Is that asking for too much? *** Janai Purnima, which all Nepalese celebrated on Tuesday, is a religious as well as a festive occasion. Not only do Hindus get the blessings of their "Gurus" on this day, but they also eat heavy protein feasts to ward off the incoming cold. One favourite dish is mutton. But Tattler was one of those people who had to wait for an excruciating hour to get a share of a half a kilo of khasi ko masu. And the butcher put the blame on the landslides on Prithvi Highway, which has created the shortage of the much in demand khasis. Ke garney? *** However one consumer while waiting in line for meat, quite realistically commented that it is tolerable to wait in line for mutton, rather than for fuel like kerosene and petrol, which also used to vanish as soon as the highways got obstructed. Thank God that has not happened this year. Keep your fingers crossed we have not spoken too soon |
