TITTLE TATTLE |
The
13th day of the passing away of Anoop Shumsher Rana was observed yesterday
(Tuesday). That several functions were organised and many people have
attended such memorial services for him, speaks volumes on how popular
late Rana was. Tattler also extends a last albida to him. *** However
in most of the functions, one observed that those who knew late Rana,
spoke of him only as a “great sportsman”, an “innovative
entrepreneur” or a “good manager”. All seemed to have forgotten the
human side of this dashing but kind man. Tattler would like to remind all
of the simplicity and good nature of Anoop. *** At
one of the functions organised to mark the handing over of Macao to China
a few days back, Foreign Minister Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat was not at his best
while delivering his address. First of all he did not please anyone by
saying right in the beginning, “This is the third speech I am giving on
this occasion,”, as if he was bored with the whole thing. Tattler
suggests ministers stick to prepared speeches on such formal occasions. *** The
cold wave in no way seems to have cooled down the heated debates within
the Parliament and within the ruling Nepali Congress party too. One
insider informed Tattler that apart from reshuffling of ministers, some
serious changes, including in diplomatic posts and also the police, are on
the cards now. This Winter could be a downright blue one for some. |
