Some
60 children, ranging in age from four to 12 years made full use of the
Resort’s children’s recreational facilities, and joined in games
organised by the Resort’s management team. A
lunch of hot dogs, chicken burgers and French fries was served and much
appreciated by the children although it was very much a departure from the
usual types of cuisine dispatched by the Resort’s kitchens. “Any
business has an obligation to the community in which it exists,” commented
The Fulbari Resort’s General Manager, Bruce Moore. “The hosting of
events like this is The Fulbari Resort’s recognition of this obligation
and a chance for us to brighten the lives, even for just a day, of the
children”, he further added. Moore’s
participation in the childrens fun and games was only interrupted by the
arrival of a Thai Princess at the Resort. Observers
opined that the SOS Village children were extremely pleasant, well behaved
and disciplined throughout their day’s stay at the Resort. The children’s event was The Fulbari Resort’s first pro bono programme in Pokhara since the property received the trade certificate of a “5-Star Deluxe Resort Hotel” from the Ministry of Tourism & Civil Aviation on November 5, 1999. Other such events will be held at the Resort on appropriate occasions, the Fulbari sources inform. NTB, NTV partners for domestic tourism By
