When the whole nation was shaking in fear on what the Maoists may do on the eve of the fifth anniversary of their violent People’s War, our brave “men in blue” seemed to be busy in raiding the entertainment spots of busy Kathmandu. Naturally, these fellas only found ‘bombs’ of a different nature in the cabin and dancing restaurants, while the actual insurgents were conducting clandestine midnight activities elsewhere. Have we got our priorities mixed up here?

Also, what do the people require now from the police, lessons in morality or a sense of security?

An editorial colleague complained of how another friend described him as being almost like a computer. This remark apparently came when they were framing some questions for an interview. Tattler quite satisfied with the aggrieved’s clarification saying “I am more compassionate than a computer”.

PM Bhattarai gave an interview to AFP some days back. But right the next day, his Chief Advisor clarified in front of reporters on the PM being wrongly quoted. Didn’t he see the copy of the interview before it was published? Or is this simply double standards at its best?
