TITTLE TATTLE |
Those
of us who know Capt. Kundan Giri find him casual, careful and even comical (at least on
the ground). Once airborne and in the cockpit, Tattler discovered his otherside --
careful, confident and commanding. What an air of difference up there, down under! *** That
the Speaker and some of the so-called responsible MPs should take a foreign junket
while an important session is on at home, is nothing but ridiculous. Alas! The nation has
to cope with such leaders whose priorities are thoroughly mixed up. *** Many
enjoy columnist Pratyoush Ontas writings. Nevertheless, columnists have to
rigorously and routinely meet deadlines, fill space (and their pockets). The drawback in
doing so can lead at times to lose objectivity in their writings. Example his recent
column entitled Two Nepali English Publications. *** Tattler
enjoyed its own original joke - if you really detest somebody, just give the person a PR
job that deals exclusively with the Nepali government officials. Work with them before you
understand this. *** Like
it says only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches, columnists, sitting on a perch and
with no worry when the next edition of a newspaper is going to be published from, should
not comment on the difficulties a real publisher faces. If media
critics were good journalists, then they would be journalists, wouldnt they? |
