ATTENDED: Wedding ceremony of Prince Phillipe of Belgium at the Saints-Michel-et-Gudule Cathedral in Brussels, by Crown Prince Dipendra.

LEFT: General Prajwal Shumsher J. B. Rana, Chief of the Army Staff, for the People's Republic of China, at the invitation of Chief of the General Staff of the Chinese Liberation Army General Fu Quan Yu.  

ELECTED: Suresh Acharya, as President of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, by its 19th convention held in the capital.

PASSED AWAY: Lalitman Lama, member of Rajparishad, at the age of 64, at TU Teaching Hospital. Lama was sufferig from diabetic and kidney ailments for the last few years.

NAMED: A bridge constructed in Kosovo by 69 Gurkha Field Squadron, as the Evans-Balaran Rai Bridge, in memory of two members of the squadron killed in June this year.

 AWARDED: A gold medal in the third International Children's Play Festival, to Hatemalo Children's Group, at a function in New Delhi.
