Jocular Bhattarai

Prime minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai is demonstrating that he is the unchallenged joke master. Wherever he goes, Bhattarai spares no time in cracking jokes. Whether it is the conference of doctors or directors, Bhattarai ends his speech with funny remarks. Recently in a regional conference of Contractors, Bhattarai blamed Nepalese contractors for promoting wrong practices like bribery. Contractors who were there to listen good speech from prime minister Bhattarai faced humiliation. When his first remarks was aired, the atmosphere of inaugural hall changed. Bhattarai who asked earlier only a few minutes for his address ended his speech with some jokes and silly remarks. No one could stop him from making jocular comments.

Hazards Of A Spokesman

Although CPN-UML leader and party spokesman Pradip Nepal considers himself a clever -man, it is only on few occasions that he is able to prove that he is smart. Most of the time, he finds himself in trouble. Due to his stinging remarks, Nepal has lost sympathy of Congress leader Girija Prasad Koirala. Nepal made some bitter remarks against the Congress strongman at a time when other UML leaders were making strategies to isolate Prime minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai. Although this was a very strong set back for CPN-UML, it seems to be a great relief to Bhattarai. Nepal's remarks have reportedly changed the political equation within Nepali Congress. Prime minister Bhattarai who has been busy trying to foil possible attempt of destablization seems to be now in a relaxed mood.

Koirala In Confrontation

Like Pradip Nepal, Congress leader Girija Prasad Koirala, too, has similar traits. He has managed to stay away from controversies so far. But last week, he promptly walled into one. When he was addressing a mass meeting at Gorkha, Koirala alleged that CPN-UML, too, was backing the Maoist movement. The remarks from no-nonsense Koirala sent shock-waves in CPN-UML leadership that is trying hard to corner the Bhattarai government.

Visiting Astrologer

RPP-Chand leader Lokendra Bahadur Chand, it seems, is no more powerful within his own party. After confrontation with his one-time close colleague Rajeshwor Devkota, Chand is losing his strong sympathizers one after another. Isolated Chand is now planning to call other colleagues to come closer to him. Chand, who believes in astrology, now wants to visit his guru to know about his destiny to find out what has gone wrong. Whenever in trouble the babusahab from Baitadi always seeks solace in the advice offered by astrologers.

No New Films

Their latest film "Cinema" has become a flop. But comedian-turned-director, producers duo Haribansa Acharya and Madan Krishna Shrestha are now uncertain what to do next-- whether to go for new film. They are aware about the situation that they will have to face tough competition as there is rush of Nepali films to be released within a couple of months. Shrestha and Acharya duo are now reportedly giving time to other social activities.
