APPOINTED: Binaya Dhoj Chand, a Nepali Congress MP, as chief whip of the NC parliamentary party, by its parliamentary party leader and Prime Minister G. P. Koirala. Chand will replace former chief whip Gopal Man Shrestha. Hari Bhakta Shrestha, joint secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, as executive chairman of Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNAC) 'until further arrangement is made,' by the Cabinet. He has replaced former executive chairman of RNAC, Bharat Bahadur Karki. PASSED AWAY : Former Commander-in-chief General Toran SJB Rana at the age of 96. ARRESTED: Pichinini Pampeyo, an Italian citizen, by Police at the Tribhuvan International Airport last week, while he was allegedly trying to smuggle out 1kg and 300 grams of hashish. LEFT : Chief of Army Staff General Prajwalla SJB Rana, for Bangladesh, at the invitation of the Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh Lieutenant General Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman. P.L.
