ARRESTED: Dev Narayan Yadav, Maoist commander in-charge of Siraha, Saptari and Dhanusha districts, by Police. A police team nabbed Yadav along with his colleague, Radhe Shyam Pandit. Mohan Hari Poudyal, reported to be regional commander of the underground Maoist party, at Besisahar, district headquarter of Lamjung, last week. According to Police, Poudyal was involved in Duradanda bank robbery incident, murder of Nepali Congress activist Mohan Singh Ghimire, Thakur Neupene, Hemraj Lohani, and five policemen including one assistant sub-inspector in different incidents. Mohan Niraula, the actor, who was absconding, for publicly stating that he would kill the Prime Minister. ELECTED: Basundhara Bhusal, senior actress, unopposed, as the President of Nepal Film Artists National Association. RECOMMENDED : The dismissal of five police inspectors who refused to go to Maoist areas, by Police Headquarter, to the Home Ministry. RETURNED: Silumelume K. Mubukwanu, Ambassador of Zambia, upon completion of his assignment in Nepal. RELEASED: Tara Prasad Bhusal, who was arrested a month ago from the premises of Butwal Appellate Court, on charge of being involved in Maoist violent activities by Police, last week. A resident of Pragatinagar, Bhusal was arrested on June 25 for the second time, after an order of Butwal appellate court freed him for a brief period. |
