RECEIVED: His Majesty the King, the honorary Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), conferred on His Majesty by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

APPOINTED: Dr. Tilak Bahadur Rawal, as the Governor of Nepal Rastra bank, by the government.

MAINTAINED: Ministry of Land Reforms and Management, the height of Mt. Everest as 8848 m.

CELEBRATED: Lhochhar, the great festival of Tamang, Hyolmo, Jirel, Nesyangwa, Furung, Kham, Magar, Dolba, Humli Tamang, Bhote, Thakali, Sherpa, Marpha and other related communities, on February 5.

LEFT: A team of 18 students from Mahendra Sanskrit University, Eastern University, Kathmandu University and Pokhara University, for Nagpur, India, to take part in the South Asian University Festival to be held from February 2 to 5.

Royal cardiologist Dr. Mrigendra Raj Pandey and cardiologist at Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital Dr. Arun Sayami, for Dhaka, Bangladesh, to participate in the general conference of SAARC Cardiac Society.
