FILED: A legal suit, by advocate Krishna Shrestha, against a notice issued by Ministry of Population and Environment (MOPE) regarding Nepal Vehicle Mass Emission Standard. In his suit, Shrestha has claimed that some portions of the notice are contradictory and against the spirit of Environmental Protection Act.

APPOINTED: Dr. Sitaram Adhikary, as the Registrar of the Kathmandu University, by Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, in his capacity as the Chancellor of the University.

LEFT: Knut Vollebaek, Foreign Minister of Norway, for Thimpu, Bhutan, after completing official visit to Nepal.

A four member delegation of US Senate led by Senator Thomas Daschle, minority leader of the US Senate, after completing two-day official visit to Nepal.

NOMINATED: Dr. Jeevan Bahadur Sherchan, head of Tribhuwan University's Institute of Medicine Public Health Research Laboratory, as an active member of the New York Academy of Sciences.
