Young And Old

The composition of the National Human Rights Commission is interesting. It is the first organization which is experimenting one of nobel ideas by mixing people from older generation with the younger ones. After the appointment of Jogendra Keshari Ghimire as its secretary, the Commission is now the first organization which counts a seventy-plus year old person as the Chairman and less than thirty year old as the secretary. It remains to be seen how this combination works?

Bhattarai On Nepal

Former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai knows different ways of joking. Occasionally, Bhattarai's wit turns into reality. In a function last week when he released the book written by his former press secretary Kishore Nepal, Bhattarai tried to present himself as a serious speaker. Bhattarai lauded Nepal's ability to collect information. He, however, did not spare time to speak some reality about Nepal's book which could have sounded bitter for the writer himself.

Deuba Seeks Support

Finally, former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba understands the reality that he cannot contest election against his former Guru, the Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, without the support of former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and three former ministers Khum Bahadur Khadka, Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar and Bal Bahadur K.C. In politics money, muscle and manipulation play important role. As Bhattarai is busy to manipulate workers, Gachhadar and Khadka have accumulated the money and K.C. is organizing the muscle power. Deuba is well aware that he can defeat strongman Koirala only under the able guidance of these four backers.

Gautam's Image

At a time when the strength of CPN-ML leader Bamdev Gautam is fading, he has found a good opportunity to enhance what is left of it. When police arrested him last week in the city on charges of violating the government order, Gautam called photographers of national newspapers. When he saw the photographers clicking their cameras, he used all his strength to make the photo more attractive. Gautam knows what are the best ways to cultivate journalists.
