ARRESTED: Hem Narayan Yadav, UML MP, by police, on charge of manhandling the district education officer of Siraha district and vandalizing the office.

SUCCEEDED: A seven-member expedition team of the Indian army, in scaling Mount Everest.

DEPLORED: His Majesty’s Government of Nepal, the Taleban rulers of Afghanistan, for enforcing the minority Afghan Hindus to wear yellow identification marks, saying that would trigger further communal discrimination.
