APPOINTED: Kedar Prasad Giri, to the vacant post of Supreme Court justice, by His Majesty the King, in accordance with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Nepal 1990 and on the recommendation of the Judicial Council.

RETURNED: Dr. Mohammed Mohsin, Chairman of National Assembly, after taking part in the meeting of Inter Parliamentary Union in Morocco. 

RELEASED: Journalists Shyam Shrestha and Gopal Budhathoki and human rights activists Pramod Kafley and Dr. Mahesh Maskey, from military custody. 

AWARDED: Pandit Tanka Nath Parajuli, with Shyam Prasad Panta Memorial Education Award 2058, for his contributions to education. 

ARRIVED: Mehmet Memi, an internationally renowned spiritual leader of Turkey, in Kathmandu, to pray for world peace and for the peace, prosperity and welfare of Nepal. 

HONORED: Madan Mani Dixit, senior litterateur, and Madan Dev Bhattarai, senior flute player, by the Ahwaan Samuha, for their contributions in the respective fields.
