ACCEPTED: The resignation
tendered by Mahesh Acharya, Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives, by
His Majesty the King, in accordance with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Nepal 1990 and
as per the recommendation by the prime minister. DECLARED: June 23 and June
28 as public holidays to mark His Majesty King Gyanendra's state visit to
India, by the government. His Majesty left Kathmandu on June 23 and will be returning home
on June 28. AWARDED: Mukunda Sharma,
litterateur, and Krishna Bahadur Manandhar, educationist, with the Pundit
Basudev Bhattarai Award, for their contributions in their respective fields, by the
Basudev Bhattarai Memorial Academy. ELECTED: Prime Minister Sher
Bahadur Deuba, as president of the Nepali Congress party, by Congress general
convention representatives after they transformed their meeting into a general
convention. NOMINATED: Chiranjibi Wagle, Minister
for Works and Physical Planning, as the vice president, Khum Bahadur Khadka,
Home Minister, as general secretary, Bijaya Gachchadar, Minister for
Water Resources, as co-general secretary and Hom Nath Dahal, as
spokesperson of the Nepali Congress faction, by its president Sher Bahadur Deuba. INCREASED: The reward amount, to anybody assisting in the successful recovery of the Asian Airlines helicopter that has gone missing since May 31, to Rs. 200,000, by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal. |
