APPOINTED: Chandra Prasad Parajuli, chief judge of the Surkhet Appellate Court, and Min Bahadur Rayamajhi, chief judge of Mahendranagar Appellate Court, to the two vacant posts of justice of the Supreme Court of the Kingdom of Nepal, by His Majesty the King, in accordance with the constitution and as per the recommendation of the Judicial Council. 

Narendra Bhattarai, as managing director at the Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank Limited. 

AWARDED: Diamond Shamsher Rana, senior novelist, with this year's Jagadamba Shree award for his outstanding contributions to Nepalese literature. 

Hari Ram Joshi, litterateur, with this year's Madan Puraskar for his book titled "Abhinav Sanskritik Kosh". 

FELICITATED: Dr. Tulasi Bahadur Chhetri, litterateur, by the Bed Nidhi Council, for his outstanding contributions to Nepalese literature. 

LEFT: Madan Kumar Aryal, Defense Secretary and coordinator at the National Defense Council, for London, at the invitation of the British Department for Defense. 

Dr. Tilak Rawal, governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, for Washington D.C., to take part in the annual meet of International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
