APPOINTED: Dr Sachche Kumar Pahari,
renowned doctor, as the chairman of Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC). Binod Bista, Gopal
Shamsher JB Rana and Raj Kumar Pandey, as advisors at the prime minister's office, by the
prime minister. ELECTED: Binod Bahadur Shrestha, as
the new president of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and industry
(FNCCI). FORMED: A one-member
probe team led by Madhusudan Lal Shrestha an appellate court judge, to investigate the
murder of Amar Lama. RECOMMENDED: The name of
former prime minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, by the government of
Nepal, for the UNESCO peace award, for his contribution to peace and development.
AWARDED: Father Ludwig Stiller,
senior writer and historian, with the Bhimsen Thapa memorial award. Narayan Prasad Sharma, a
journalist, with the Prakash Kafley Human Rights Award. DIED: General Singha Pratap Shah, former army chief and member of Raj Parisad and ex-Ambassador to Germany. |
