ELECTED: General Bharat Keshar Singh, as the International President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), unanimously, by the seventh convention of the VHP held recently in Gorakhpur, India. 

Dr. Arzu Deuba, Rajan Singh Bhandari and Bishnuraj Adhikary, as president, vice-president and general secretary, respectively, of the managing committee of the Nepal Management Association. 

DECIDED: To open the Royal Nepalese Embassy in Malaysia, by the cabinet. 

APPOINTED: Lava Prasad Tripathy, joint secretary, as the spokesperson at the Ministry of Education and Sports. 

DIED: Nir Man Newa, senior journalist and publisher of Janjagriti, at the age of 60. 

AWARDED: Biman Nibha, litterateur, with the Gopal Prasad Rimal Samman 2057, by the Bagar Foundation. 

Ramesh Bikal, litterateur, with the Yuddha Prasad Mishra Award.
