DIED: Mukunda Bahadur Shrestha, chief of Patan Multiple Campus, of kidney ailments. 

BEREAVED: Madhav Kumar Nepal, general secretary of Unified Marxist-Leninist, of his mother Durga Devi Nepal, who died at the age of 78. 

FORMED: A five-member disciplinary committee of the Nepali Congress (Democratic) under the convenorship of Tek Bahadur Chokhyal. 

AWARDED: Deepak Gyawali, a journalist from Butwal, with the environment journalism award, by the Nepal Forum of Environment Journalists. 

Mani Raj Neupane, of Lalitpur College, the first prize in valley-wide higher secondary essay competition. Suresh Thapa of Capital College and Ram Singh Tamang of Kathmandu, were first and second runner-ups respectively. 

RETURNED: Dr. Govinda Prasad Thapa, Additional Inspector General of Police, after taking part in a training program organized by Interpol in France.
