APPOINTED: Royal Nepalese Ambassador to United Kingdom Prabal Sumsher JB Rana, also as the ambassador to Finland and Ireland by His Majesty the King, in accordance with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Nepal 1990.

Ramesh Nath Joshi, as the Managing Director, of Janak Educational Materials Center Limited, by the government.

Brigadier General Gajendra Bahadur Limbu, as acting Military Secretary of His Majesty the King, by His Majesty the King.

Nilamani Dhungana and Narayan Kumar Acharya, as rector and registrar of the Mahendra Sanskrit University, by the King in his capacity as the Chancellor of the university.

ACCEPTED: The resignation tendered by Lt. General Bibek Kumar Shah, military secretary to His Majesty, by His Majesty the King.

AWARDED: Aishwarya Bidyapadak to Renu Mandal of Padma Kanya Campus, Barsha K.C of Nepal College of Travel and Tourism, Sunita Baral of Mahedra Ratna Campus, Chaitya Sobha Shakya of Engineering Campus and Roshani Laxmi of Nursing Campus, by Queen Komal.

FORMED: A committee, under the chairmanship of Minister of Information and Communication Kamal Thapa, to recommend the name for the vice-chancellor of B.P. Koirala Health Science Academy by the government. The members include Vice chancellor of TU Dr.Govinda Sharma and Dr.Damer Bahadur Karki of Ministry of Health.

LEFT: Buddhiman Tamang, Minister for Works and Physical Planning, for Colombo, Sri Lanka, to attend a meeting.

Kamal Thapa, Minister for Information and Communication, for New Delhi, India, to attend the third SAARC meeting of Information ministers.

RETURNED: A twelve-member police team led by DSP Pankaj Shrestha after completing their tenure in the UN operation in East Timor.

DIED : Professor Dr. Ballabh Mani Dahal, senior linguist.
