ARRIVED: King Gyanendra and Queen Komal, after completing two-week-long visit to London, United Kingdom, where the royal couple had gone for medical check up. 

RESIGNED: Krishna Ram Shrestha, from the post of Attorney General for the Kingdom of Nepal. 

APPOINTED: Dr. Bhekh Bahadur Thapa, former Royal Nepalese Ambassador to India, as the special representative on foreign policy or the ambassador-at-large, by King Gyanendra, in accordance with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Nepal 1990.   

LEFT: Manju Ratna Shakya, president of Association of Nepalese Journalists, leading a five-member delegation, for China, at the invitation of Chinese Journalists Association.  

AWARDED: Durga Baral “Vatsayan”, senior cartoonist, with the B.P. Koirala Journalism Award, for his contribution to the cartoon and humor sector. 

Junar Babu Basnet, co-editor at the Gorkhapatra daily, with the Tuborg Business Outstanding Journalist Award.
