By A CORESPONDENT

At a time when history students of higher education are struggling to find appropriate and useful books on theoretical and other aspects of the disciple, Dr. Rajesh Gautam has come up with a book highlighting the different modalities of studying history.

Based on his campus notes, noted historian and human rights activist, Dr. Gautam tries to come to the rescue of history students in Nepal by providing them with an easy way of learning the intricacies of the history. Learning history is not simply reading a book on the historical incidents. It also consists of background information, definitions and related subject matters.

Before the publication of this book, the students and the teachers of history had to consult different books and various materials. Dr. Gautam's book has compiled all these in one book, which is obviously going to be of big help to them.

Designed to help history students of higher education, Dr. Gautam cites viewpoints of scholars and historians from different parts of the world. "One of my aims is to support the student of higher education to understand the methodology of history," said Dr. Gautam, who has written a number of books on contemporary history of Nepal.

Although the book is just a part of his teaching notebook, it explains in detail the importance of studying history and historical incidents. "Studying and teaching history is a very complicated task as the students have to consult various books and reference materials," said Dr. Gautam. "My book will help the students of history who want to learn the detailed aspects of history."

The book is in a notebook format. Having long experiences in teaching history at Tribhuwan University, Dr. Gautam has made every effort to place all materials related to the course of higher education.
