By A CORRESPONDENT

There are different ways of expressing the inner feelings of individual. Some choose canvas while other follow the medium of literature including novel writing, poems and stories. Young poet Kishan Singh Dhami uses his literary skills to express the feelings through poems.

There are a number of young poets who have been contributing to flourish Nepalese literature. Kishan Singh Dhami is one of them who has shown promise of becoming a poet who can tactfully express not only feelings but also the picture of society through poems.

Dhami who has already published a couple of books in the last few years seems to be very much concerned about the deteriorating situation of Nepal. One can see his inner quest and desire for peace. In his recent anthology titled "Santi Khojdai", Dhami has made efforts to show important peace is in the country. "Poet Kishan Singh Dhami is a poet of life and reality," said renowned poet Ishwor Ballav.

In his 64 different poems, Poet Dhami tries to explain why does the country require the peace and how violence and bloodshed is causing irreparable damage to the country. He wants to see his birthplace return towards peace and prosperity.

Using simple and lucid words, Dhami tries to record the changes the country has witnessed in the last couple of years.

He narrates the situation of battle, bloodshed, tragedy, human agony and life of warriors. One of the interesting things about his poems is that all of them stress against the violence and for the absolute peace in the country.

Dhami's poems also express how dreadful and tragic the situation in the country has become in view of daily doses of news regarding the devastations, destructions and bloodshed.

Though there are still many lacunae in his writing and though he still has a long way to go to establish himself as a litterateur, Dhami show enough promise of perseverance given his series of books. Some of Dhami's poems have also been translated into French language.
