AWARDED: Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, president of the Soka Gakkai International Japan, with the 'Peace Award Kathmandu-2004', by Kathmandu Metropolitan City, for his contribution in world peace and education.

ARRESTED: Laghudhan Rai, former parliamentarian, by the Kathmandu District Police Office, on the accusation of swindling money from the public in the name of sending them abroad for work.
