Chinese acrobatic show helps to strengthen the cultural relations between Nepal and China /

As soon as Chinese acrobats began their performance at Birendra International Convention Center (BICC), they received applaud from Nepalese audience. In the last five decades, many Chinese acrobats have visited Nepal and performed their shows but this was a unique occasion to show their performance.
Nepal and China not only share the border in north but they also share the cultural, linguistic and other matters. Although Nepal ’s border with China is closed, it cannot prevent people to people contact. The cultural troops like acrobatic exhibition will encourage the citizens of both the countries to understand each other better. With the establishment of formal diplomatic relations, many Chinese cultural groups have come to Nepal .

As Nepal and China is celebrating fifty-year anniversary of establishment of formal diplomatic relationship, both countries are giving high priority to their relations. The performance of Chinese acrobats is one of them.
Inaugurated by Crown Prince Paras, the week-long exhibition and acrobatic programs attracted a large number of Nepalese audience. From books to other commercial Chinese products, Nepalese consumers were offered varieties of choices of Chinese goods.
For the past fifty-years, Nepal and China continue to have normal and perfect relationship. Whatever the types of government come in power, Nepal-China relations have grown with no major dispute.
Although Nepal and China have long and old history of their bilateral relations, their modern relations was established in 1955. Chinese scholars had traveled to Nepal centuries ago and had described the Licchivi period.
Till recently, Nepal used to send high-level mission to Peking to express solidarity with its northern neighbors. In return, Nepal also received equal recognition as a sovereign and independent country. Despite pressure from British India , Nepalese prime minister Chandra Sumsher had sent a high level mission to Peking .
“ Nepal and China has a long history of bilateral relations. Chinese come to rescue Nepal whenever Nepal ’s independence and sovereignty is under threat,” said vice chairman Kirti Nidhi Bista. “One of the basic characters of Nepal-China relations is the relations based on sovereign equality.”
As Nepal and China are celebrating fifty-years of establishment of diplomatic relationship, Nepalese and Chinese are sharing many important aspects on culture and economic development.
In the last two programs, there were exhibition of Chinese products as well as education opportunities available in China . This time the acrobatic show was something different but it was equally popular among Nepalese people.
In the last few decades, China has made steady economic progress. The expansion of railway link to Lhasa- capital of Tibetan Autonomous Region will help Nepal to diversify its trade in future. Nepalese can benefit from the economic opportunities available in Nepal ’s northern neighbor.
“ Since there are economic opportunities, Nepalese industrialists and business groups must exploit them to benefit the country,” said vice chairman Bista. “ China is our trustworthy friend.”
Just a month after the completion of Chinese Trade exhibition, a group of Chinese acrobats are demonstrating their unique style through the acrobatic discipline.
In recent days, the exchange of visit of high-level dignitaries, journalists, cultural groups and trade delegation between Nepal and China has increased along with the understanding between the two countries.
“ China shares many cultural and other similarities with Nepal . Our two countries have very good relations,” said Sun Heping, Chinese ambassador to Nepal addressing the inaugural program.
The exhibition and acrobatic program also has a significant importance in the valley. Tired of watching western movies and other programs, the exhibition also offered chances to see the cultural life of China .
