Kathmandu , at the moment, has become the epicenter of all kinds of agitations. Ever since King Gyanendra took over the reins of the government in his own hands, many internal and external forces fishing in the troubled waters, have, all of a sudden, found themselves struggling at the bottom of the pond. They are keen to regain their influence and would not mind to do anything, good or evil, to achieve their objective. These enemies of the nation do not want to see the imperativeness for the King’s action. They refuse to realize that it was not King Gyanendra’s choice. It was his compulsion. If the nation could tolerate the misrule of the political parties for fourteen years, can’t the patriotic forces of the nation have some patience and give King Gyanendra some more time? Why need everybody start agitation against the King? No ghost need come from the hell to tell us whose is the main hand behind all these agitations. We know, only a few black sheep in every organization that is agitating for the restoration of democratic rights are trying to lead their organization astray. We also know, the overwhelming rest is both patriotic and nationalist. As such, instead of being carried away by the glib leaders, isn’t it time for them to think and ponder? King Gyanendra has repeatedly affirmed his faith in multiparty democracy and constitutional monarchy. He has still not done anything that would generate any kind of doubts and misgivings in his protestations. Opposing King Gyanendra, at this juncture, will only harm the overall interests of the nation and expose one’s vile intentions. This way, we would be playing right into the hands of those elements who do not wish well for our country. And four months is not a long time to get impatient. King Gyanendra is wise. He knows he cannot turn the clock back. He has only to avoid the pitfalls that surround him. Can we visualize the situation that will arise if King Gyanendra, too, does not succeed? We do not want to face that kind of situation if we want to stay a proud independent nation. As such, the greatest urgency of the hour is for all patriotic Nepali people to join hands and extend their fullest cooperation to King Gyanendra. All patriotic Nepali people must not fail to see through the evil designs of the enemies of the state and save our bedeviled nation from going to disaster. The grave situation in the country also demands that King Gyanendra, too, must rise above all personal considerations for obtaining the maximum cooperation from his people.
