Writing the editor’s note for SPOTLIGHT from my sick bed at the hospital is, indeed, a tall order. But my colleagues insisted that I write even a few words if not the full editor’s note.

All our good friends and the patriotic brethren must know by now that our one and only purpose in publishing this magazine is to educate all our simple citizens about the utter necessity to unite to safeguard the sovereignty and independence of our beautiful country. The politicians that have ruled this country have proved themselves anything but nationalistic Nepalese. If our country is to revert to this gang of thugs, not even Lord Pashupatinath will be able to save her. We have tried in our very humble way to advise the King that clocks cannot be turned back and the time for bringing in any kind of regressive policy is long over. There is still an overwhelming number of good and honest Nepalese citizens who love their motherland and would be prepared to make the biggest sacrifices. But the necessity is how to win their affection and confidence.

The dark cloud of alien imposition hovering over our national horizon does not seem to scatter away. Rather it is getting really threatening. As political currents keep on moving fast, it has become even more imperative for us to ready ourselves to fight the anti-patriotic forces. As such, we would, once again, exhort all our good friends and readers to give serious consideration to our humble suggestion and be prepared to face the worst situation. Because this is one bus, which we just cannot afford to miss.

We do trust all our good friends and sympathizers will understand the reason for the brevity of this note and excuse us. We promise to make ample recompense.
